Ross Copperman is an american singer-songwriter, a newbie who just released his first album 'Welcome to reality' in May this year. The most popular track 'All she ever wrote' is very pop and catchy. Although it doesn't sound much different from other punk (would it offend if I say 'teenage punk'?), I like the piano arrangements. I prefer a more mature voice but this one isn't bad.

No, that's not offensive, lol. Although, I don't think his music is really punk...it's more pop rock. Too much melody, not enough three cord abrasion and political angst, lol. Not a bad musician though.
ReplyDeleteBingo 0_0 pop rock is the word! But then it sounds like punk is not supposed to be melodious?
ReplyDeleteWell...the punk ethic is the easiest thing to describe and differentiate. Hearing punk rock is something harder to describe. Some punk rock like the Clash, the Misfits, and Bad Religion can be very melodic...you just have to listen to a lot of it. But generally it is loud, fast, and abrasive...the main instruments are usually guitar, bass, and drums and nothing else.
ReplyDeleteRoss Copperman seems to like to branch out in his instrumentation. Man it's been kind of weird coming back to the music I listened to a few years ago...it's like I have a different perspective on it.
interesting...and nah, this guy is too sweet and mellow to be punk.. :D
